He is a renowned composer and has been leading a successful career since the mid-1980s. Early life and family The childhood of Ipanguaçu was marked by several events. His father died when he was five years old, and his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. His parents’ separation, which was announced in his childhood, worsened the situation, since his mother moved out of the house. With the arrival of a step-father, Mestre Bussa, who in 1968 helped him compose songs and write lyrics, Ipanguaçu recorded the first songs. Career Ipanguaçu started his career as composer in the mid-1980s, with great success, writing and singing many hits such as "Tudo bem", "Docemente", "Pode o mar" and "Por trás do amor". Some of his works have been recognized by the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) in Brazil as Soundtrack of the Year.
